The format included a discussion of  Bitsy's Bait & BBQ from USA Today Best selling Author, Pamela Morsi.

Pamela, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, is native to a small Oklahoma oil boom town, but she's spent her adult life in several different places including the Middle East and Europe, and even Texas. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and having received a Master of Arts in Library Science from the University of Missouri, Pam spent almost twenty years working in public, academic and medical libraries before becoming a full-time writer. The Commentator wasGrand Rapids' very own Shelly Irwin, who will facilitate a Q&A with with the Author. Each person who attended the event had the opportunity to have the author sign their copy of their book over hors d'oeuvres, desserts and beverages.

100% of  the net proceeds from the event will be used toward the capital campaign for renovating Camp Newaygo's clubhouse.  On August 19, 2008, a $3,000 check was presented to the NCCS Camp Newaygo Board.
